Battle of the Bulge Update
Hey all,
Well we are approaching the end of week #2.
My update goes something like this………Ah started yesterday. Basically that’s it. Was away the last two weeks, flying all over this great land of ours. I tried to work out but I kept getting locked in my hotel room;-)
2nd day with no carbs. Eggs for breakfast, chicken and sweet potatoes for lunch, an apple for lunch and chicken or pork for dinner. I also have to start doing something Iabsolutely hate….eat vegetables. Had Broccoli last night. Thank GOD for salt and pepper.
I am also going to add this to the NEW JT Blog. Would love to have you guys also do some posts. I know that with Facebook and all the other stuff a Blog might be to much but we are working on a way to have them all work together. I have provided the Blog link ……so go on and sign up.
Team Update
Hello everyone,
There is a bunch of information below. Sorry to have so much, but there is some really cool stuff to tell you about. Please take a moment to read the following. Thank you.:-D
Hope all is well and you are all getting ready for a great fall and winter.
Wanted to get a quick email out to this group to inform and remind you about a few things pertaining to The JT Foundation for Autism Awareness.
Autism UPDATE?!
We need your help to raise awareness more then ever! Please join us in 2010 as we keep trying to make a difference.
The Autism community, and for that matter everyone got some unsettling news this past week about NEW Autism statistics! This only make ME more motivated and why we need your help.
According to the Department of Health and Human Services National Survey of Children’s Health, NOW -1 out of every 91 children — 1% of American kids today — has an autism spectrum disorder. That’s up from 1 child in every 150, just a few years ago in 2007..
This national report released in the journal Pediatrics reveals that 1 percent of U.S. children ages 3-17 have an autism spectrum disorder, an estimated prevalence of one in every 91 children. This is a dramatic increase from the one in 150 prevalence rates currently reported. To read more visit 1 and 91 Article
Maggie Freeman at Ironman World Championships in Hawaii
As many of you are aware Maggie Freeman will be racing this weekend in the Ironman World Championships in lovely Hawaii. A bit of scary news is that during a training ride with fellow Jersey Shore triathletes Joe Donahue and Dave Slowinski, out of now where a gust of wind blew Maggie off her bike and she took a nasty spill. She banged her head, got some road rash on her face and shoulder along with other bumps and bruises. She also found out yesterday that she cracked a rib! Yes a rib. In spite of all this she still plans on competing on Saturday and with some added prayers from us and with the arrival of the Carolyn to keep her spirits up she will compete and finish! As extra motivation Maggie will be running for all her fallen Police comrades. Please keep her in your thought and prayers this weekend….as well as all the others racing….Good luck Maggie, Joe D and Dave!!
Dotties House Triathlon
I will be at this end of the season event if anyone on this email want to represent the Team for Autism Awareness we would be grateful. I am planning on taking some pictures and video for the End of the Season Gathering and the web site. Email me if you are racing.

Hope that you will be able to make it, and if so please RSVP with the # of people. (disregard if you have RSVP). This gathering should be a great time where you can meet others on the team and learn a bit more about this Autism epidemic. All are welcome.
